Thought I would create a short video to go along with the many many other overly dramatic car videos i have been seeing lately. So i went out put the camera on the pavement and the rest is in the video. Check it out.

2007 AUDI RS4 Supercharged monster.

R ecently a friend asked me to photograph his 2007 Supercharged Audi RS4 for him. I didn't expect to but got the chance to drive it for about 15 miles. Plainly put it is a lean mean pavement eating grocery getter, but before I go into the driving experience let me give you some details on the car.

Base engine size: 4.2 L
Cylinders: V8
Torque: 317 ft-lbs. @ 6000 rpm
Horsepower: 420 hp @ 7500 rpm
Drive type: all wheel drive
Mechanical center differential
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Center limited slip differential

T he above horse power specs are stock. This however is NOT a stock RS4. This beast is equipped with a Magnuson MP90 twin screw supercharger, custom tuned ECU's and MAGNAFLOW exhaust. This thing pushes 540 horse power and 438 foot punds of torque.

A s this is not my vehicle my "test" drive of it was more of a "spirited" drive than an all out flogging". The majority of the drive was in a 40-55mph speed limit with lots of stop lights. Some may think this would be a negative however when you are driving an all wheel drive supercharged BEAST the more you come to a stop the more fun it is.

M y last stop before I hit the interstate I was the first on the line. As the light turned green I got it to a slow roll and throttled down. Before I could think about the insane acceleration pushing me back in the seat I was shifting into second. The shift was super smooth and short and the no slip of the AWD threw me back in the seat again. 55mph came fast and as I blew by it I depressed the clutch and was at 60mph in what seemed like 4 seconds or less.

I mean this thing was FAST by far the fastest thing I've ever driven. Now the speed of this thing was very impressive but thats just the topping on a very very stable/comfortable/every bell and whistle having cake. The handling was amazing. Almost no body roll yet the suspension was very comfortable on the streets. All the perks of a high end luxury car including built in GPS/seat warmers/climate control. The sound from the exhaust and engine was audible inside but not overbearing and actually added to the driving experience.

I n conclusion I am very glad I got to drive this vehicle and appreciate the chance to. The vehicle in stock form is an amazingly engineered vehicle and with the modifications was just amazing. I was also informed that I was driving in the Street mode and not sport mode so I actually didn't get to experience the full potential of the motor.

Time lapse project for Powerhouse Retail Services.

I was hired by a company to produce a time lapse video of one of their projects. I spent 2 weeks in Ohio photographing the process. It was very interesting and challenging to get all the angles and action in the photos. The completed project can be viewed in the attached video.

So again I am playing with the intervalometer and the camera. Trying out settings and playing with video compression.
This is just a quick video of the sun setting from the back deck. I wanted to get the transition to stars in the video but some settings didn't work and my battery died shortly after sunset. I will correct these issues and hopefully soon have another video for you.

An intervalometer is used to capture time lapse photography with still cameras. I recently received mine after 3 weeks of shipping and receiving faulty cheap versions. The intervalometer ( shutter release timer) is fairly easy to use and I had to try it out right away. Luckily I had a fun little subject matter for about an hour. The subject matter was Lisa and I assembling our new CharBroil grill. The video is attached. Stay tuned and don't forget to share/sign up for my blog. There will be MANY MANY more Time Lapse videos coming. Hopefully with much more interesting plot lines.
